the +r format is some bastardization thought up by sony, hp, and such in an effort to confuse the consumers and make some dough. These companies have a big foot in the door at mass merchant retailers and chain stores. They claim the +r format is more reliable, I have not seen any proof to support this.
Sheez, even where I get my media at a local store (
www.pcclub.com), a spool of 50 -R media is $39.99USD, while the same spool of +R medit is $99.99USD.
