OK, Here are the answers:

1. I want to buy me a ps2 and I do not know which chip I should take to play with CD-Rs.

In my area I can get the magic 3 or a Black Viper FINAL Modchip(FINAL STEALTH-MODCHIP) but which one should I take ?

ANSWER: Well, through what I can tell you, I would go for a Magic 3 modchip between the two which you have listed but my personal favourite would be the Messiah 2. As I have never heard about the Black Viper FINAL Modchip (I can only guess that it is a clone? Just a word in passing - STAY CLEAR OF CLONE CHIPS, EVEN IF THEY ARE CHEAPER!) So, I would go for the Magic 3. Plus, this will save you time and money later on if you decide to upgrade to a DVD Re-writer or get games which have been burned to DVD-R. If you are certain that you will not be doing this then there are other much cheaper options. I personally wopuld NOT recommend this but you can get No-Solder chips which just clip into the system (just like the cards on your PC) but this will mean taking out the chip if you DO decide to upgrade in the future so THINK ABOUT IT CAREFULLY before purchasing but my firm favourites are the MESSIAH 2 or MAGIC 3. More information is available on these on the Sticky's at the top of the page and searching the forum.

2. Is it possible to copy the DVD-Roms (the games) for the PS2 without a DVD Drive.

ANSWER: Sadly the answer is NO it cannot be done, however a cheap DVD drive can be picked up at computer stores - they really aren't that expensive! If you are interested, here is why it cannot be done: 1. DVD's are read by Infra-Red light rays whereas DVD's are read by a dedicated laser. This means that the drive will not get any reflectivity from the disc which means no data, and 2. The laser diode and the tracks which the laser follows on the disc itself are much smaller than on CD's. As this is the case, the CD drive would not collect any data from the disc.

3. I use normaly CloneCd with a Cyberdrive Writer.

ANSWER: You have the correct software for the job (as far as CD burning is concerned). I am not sure about the rewriter as you don't give a model number but as long as it supports RAW-DAO-96 then you should be fine as this is what is needed for CloneCD to make a correct 1:1 Copy.

Hope this helps and keep us posted...
