Yes mate it does work work. I've got same model with no solder mod and works fine.
Beware, not all games work on this mod, a select few refuse to boot using the Magic swap disks and because you have a version 7 you can't use the action replay swap to get around it.
Check my posts for one called Nosolder/magicswap/ver 7 or something like that. I've posted a list of games which I have tested with the same set up you're looking to get.

Then again, i'm assuming you have the originals of the games as well, so you can still use them
