what stage does it get to in the boot process?
are you using different media now to what you used before in the past?
do your other backups still boot alright? it might be your laser... silly as this may sound try positioning your console on its side and then try booting up the game
It might work in your PC as your CD-Rom drive laser is stronger than your PSX laser.
