Memory cards are good for 2 things.
1. You keep your saves private from others (in case you have brothers/sisters, and don't want them to mess up your saves.)
2. Make them portable. They make it so you don't have to lug your xbox around if you want to use your personal character (like in gauntlet legends or something). They can come in very handy.
