Alex think about this. If you asked and electrician to choose between having to stick a knife into a whole everytime he wanted to see a certain channel or if he rather try to install a chip on the tv that will allow him to view the channel automatically I am sure he will try to install the chip. If he is worried about safety then he will find someone that has done it successfully and have them do it. He would choose this in a heart bit over sticking a knife in the tv if he is really and electrician.

I completely understand what you are trying to say about safety issues when modding a ps2 because is not a simple thing to do. But that is only a factor if you don't have any experience soldering or working with electric componets and try to do it yourself without first practicing or searching for infomation. And that is why members of this forum try to guide newbies like me in the right direction so we could have reliable people mod the PS2 safely.
