Yes you will, referring back to what cmdrtrew said, you will need to solder 9 points. With out the clip you would have had to solder 23. The good thing about the clip is not only the little number of points that you have to solder, but also the fact that the clip mounts on top of the Bios chip in your PS2. Which means you won't have to solder wires to this bios chip which are the hardest points to solder because they are really close to each other. So the rest of the 9 points you have to solder are not nearly as hard as the other ones you don't have to solder because you got the clip
