Hey, the modchip 3.5 comes with the clip...i believe....i've ordered one too back on the 19th (from modchip.com)but it still hasn't arrived, when it does i'll let you know. As for your version, if you go back to modchip....there is lots of info there to determine your version. I recommend going back to their website and following their directions. For the soldering....the 3.5 has only 9 wires to solder but as previously mentioned soldering can mess up your ps2 pretty easy. Modchip has a list of recommendations..watts for the iron, size of tip for it, type of solder and they list what's included with your order too(for example they include the solder). But if you've never soldered before or only rarely, get someone with more experience.
