Works great on some ps2 but others need a slight tweak of the laser power to read them. If you need to adjust the laser it's a fairly easy process. Unfortunately all ps2 lasers are set up differently and some have been deliberately not to read dvdr and dvdrw but managed to get my old version 4 from not touching any copied media to reading everything and it took me about an hour so is well worth the effort.
