Naw, the NEW Test Drive. The Infogrames website describes it as "Test Drive (2002 edition). It's the one that has recently been released on all the CONsole systems, and is now available on PC. (came out Dec-10-02 for PC)

It's 2 CD's, and it comes in lousy paper sleeves. I'd like a NoCD fix so I can put away the CD's and still enjoy the game. The 2nd CD only has one stupid .cab file on it, and after you install the game, it never wants to see it again (disk 2, that is). All it does is that quicky check of disk one IMMEDIATELY upon clicking on the icon to run it. I don't think it ever accesses the CD again after that, you don't even get a choice of full or medium installs, it's ALL on the harddrive, EXCEPT for that annoying CD check. The .exe file is 2.71megs, if someone wants me to E-mail that .exe to them, let me know here. Let me know if I should zip it or rar it or leave it whole or what.

I only tried to make an archival backup once with CloneCD, but it didn't work (in Win98 OR WinXP) so a NoCD fix is badly needed (well.....wanted real bad anyway ) Man!, I wish I knew how to make NoCD fixes myself.

This new Test Drive utilizes alot of powersliding, that's about it's only real redeeming quality, but I just love arcadey racing games.

Booting the game is almost exactly like the older Test Drive 6, with the options screen that comes up and everything, almost identical.

You know, I was thinking just last night that I should have been a little clearer about exactly which Test Drive I was talking about. Sorry about that. I guess, technically speaking, it's Test Drive 7, even though they don't call it that.
