unSafeDisc v1.5.5 problems - HELP
Hey Fellas (r!sc),
Someone I know zipped up and sent my a Remote Control Plane Sim (Great Planes RealFlight Deluxe). Well I unzipped it and low and behold its got safedisc protection. After exhausting just about every util out there to unrap this beast, I finally came across unSafeDisc v1.5.5. Well this little gem decrypted the Setup.exe/.icd file and finally let me install the game. YES, the setup was protected too.
Well now the game is installed. But the install also creates RealFlight.exe/.icd. No problem I thought, just use unSafeDisc v1.5.5 again and violla (or so I thought). The util did decrypt the game/icd file, but it still won't play. As soon as I run the decrypted game file it creates "fileread.ini" file and then instructs me to insert the original CD (NOTE: this is NOT the same message box I get if I try to run the encrypted game file).
So I look at the contents of the new .ini file and the contents look like this;
[Install]
InstallDir=e:\
;InstallDir=c:\Program Files\RealFlight
;InstallDir=c:\Progra~1\Realfl~1
[DataFiles]
CacheSize=60000000
ExitingCacheSize=100.000000
AutoEject=YES
As you can see, I've tried playing around with the InstallDir setting. If I set InstallDir to a HD (dir doesn't matter) and then run the decrypted game file it does nothing, just shutts itself down with no messages. If I set the InstallDir to anything that is not a HD, then the game prompts me with a message box to install the original CD in that drive (again, NOT the same message box you get when running the unencrypted .exe).
I've also tried all the unwrappers / emulators on the actual game file to no evail. The only util that gets close is unSafeDisc v1.5.5 (ohh v1.5.3 does the same thing).
Ideas? Anyone?
TIA,
RCxtra
