Yes..... Imitation discs (doesn't matter if its CD-R or DVD-R) are VERY POOR.......(They are good for starting fires with though

Try some better media and that should take care of you problem..
NOTE: MOST Black bottom cd-r's are junk...They have had very poor results by many people...Myself included....
Traxdata may be better, you will just have to try them and see...
