What mod chip are you using?
Use Primo DVD or RecordNow Max to burn your PS2 dvd based games....
Nero works for "most" games BUT not all......
Could also be that your PS2 doesn't like the +R format....
Try burning MGS2 with one of the programs above and see if it will boot then, if not, find "someone" (aka me) with MGS2 on DVD-R and talk "very nicely" to them
and maybe they will send you a copy to try....
