I know the link you are talking about....
I beleive the reason (and this is just my opinion) the link was removed because it had illegal content..... Such as Clone CD (not shareware version) and keygenerators..... Things like that... It may have been questionable to them so instead of taking a chance they removed it....
I have no idea if this is the case but it is what I think happened...
