After extensive research, homebrew seems to be the best. You can get the best of all the chips as one. As for solder vs no-solder, go for solder as long as you can update your Bios through the dashboard. The no-solder mods get loose and are a hassle from what I've seen. Look for a a homebrew with these features: 1 MB rom, flashable through dash, the ability to disable the chip, region free DVD, proper support. Good luck!
