Try taking a look at the booting procedures that I posted and check to make sure you are booting DVD backups correctly...

Also... Some V5 and above PS2's will read the +R format... You may be one of the lucky ones whos PS2 will read it...
But the -R is more compatible across a wider range of PS2 versions...
