Try using Primo DVD to backup your dvd based games...
This is the program most everyone uses on the forum.
(At least if you back it up this way, we can be alomst certain
that you backup methods are not to blame.)
Also....Follow the tutorial written by Charlie_PS2 to the letter.

Try using this to back them up and then we can go from there.
There have been people on this forum that have used NERO and could not get the backups to work. They switched to using Primo and the backups work fine.
Lets start with this..Then post back and we can go from there..
