You are correct. Pioneer did not include the +R format with the A05. They don't support that format like Sony, HP, Phillips, and ricoh do.
It also does not support DVD-RAM....(Who really cares...DVD-RAM won't be around much longer anyway.)
Sony's drive will support both the +R & -R format...(They basically had to do this....The -R drives were outselling the +R drives almost 2 to 1...They are supporting the -R format now to try and appeal to everybody...
