i just tried it with a mode1 image and it does not work sorry.
the only other thing i can think of is to rip the files from the iso and rebuild the disk using the method on

just remember to read the whole page first and use the tool 2352.bin and not 2336.iso!!
i use this method to build multi game psx disks so it does work!!
