The Sony DVD±RW Drive DRU500A is looking to be a very good drive. Plus it comes with a favorite program of mine Stomp Record Now Max, which is known to backup PS2 dvd's.

It is supposed to write dvd-r at 4x (at least when the disc for that speed come out). I will most likely be buying one of these puppies.


The thing is it is not out for sale yet. This is from their own site:
