As I have a direct boot chip(Messiah) I can't answer you question about the swap part... I do know that ALOT of people use the Devil May Cry dvd for their swap disc......
As far as the dvd writer is concerned.....
Get yourself the Pioneer A03 or the A04.......
A04 is the newer model but depending on how much money you have.....EITHER one will work GREAT.......
