Ok, someone on the evolutionX irc channel found out the problem. The problem is the the no-eject hack. When you eject and switch cd's in evoX, it's not read because the xbox doesn't know you switched cd's. You have to flash the evoX 2.2+ bios to be able to copy stuff.
The only thing I can think of that could prevent that (without having to flash the bios), is if you can create some kind of error (in a program on the xbox) to force the xbox to reload the "D" drive. But i doubt there are any out.
