when i finally got my data backed up i did a few tests to find out exactly what could cause isssues with disappearing dvd drives etc.
before i installed anti-blaxx i had nero and blindwrite...

acal3000? yes, anti blaxx is a disastrous program.. how the hell somebody managed to get the word around it was useful and didnt screw up your dvd /cd windows etc etc i do not know. it has estroyed...

Anti blaxx killed my dvd and slowed my bootup time
my dvd drive has just gone. i cannot detect it in any way. this ocvcurred after i installed anti blaxx [which i found out was useless anyway and SR7 seemed to work much better!!!].
