This might help...
Try uninstalling then reinstalling your IDE drivers, and then try updating the firmware. It usually helps with problems like this if there isn't anything wrong with your drive.

On Defragmenting...
I just saw Warlocks post right after I posted my last post! I defragment both of my hard drives regularly, and DVD Decryptor still takes a long time.

Why don't you download DVD 43? It takes almost no time at all. DVD Decryptor is good freeware, but it has always taken a long time whenvever I have used it. The tougher the ecrtyptions and copyright...

Try the latest freeware!
The lates updates for dvd43 and dvd shrink are even copying those nasty Sony/Columbia Arrcos protected dvds; I never had any problems with Disney movies at all (not even with the older versions...)...
