either way - i solved my problem...for some reason the 169.21 WHQL drivers are causing problems between the 768 MB 8800 GTX video card and Crysis...and when i uninstalled said drivers and installed...

lol....!! it is the 169.21 drivers....i installed the previous 163.75 drivers and now everything works fine - hopefully nvidia works out the kinks on their new beta drivers for 169.28

Sorry i have been busy --> but it has got to be the nvidia drivers - later i will try both 169.28 beta and/or 163.75 previous and see if this helps....and post results later....

It's not an over-heating issue as i can run oblivion for several hours maxed out and unreal tournament 3 also maxed out - and with crysis (like i said) crashes at very beginning....:(

very true....but with ubisoft they are not folding anytime soon...lol!! And i have been sitting on this game for a year now...my kids want to play it....:)

What's the point of using a "fixed exe" and still need cd2 when I can play Sonic Heroes w/cd2 anyways.....the point of having a NOCD is to play it without a cd - right? So according to earlier posts...
