The burner can't change the format of the drive. Are you sure you're using -R media.

My LG drive works ok.

If as a master set it to slave/secondary.

The Sony drive for some reason is a bit fussy about how it's connected.

I heard DL disk prices of between £5 and £7.50 each but understand that Ritek and others are due to wind up mass production this monthe so the price may come down a bit. My guess £3-4 each.

Just to clear a point, it's not double sided but dual layer. Just got to wait for the media now!!!

The DVDR75 does not have "PC Convergence" therefore disks won't be readable in the PC.

Only the DVDR70 has...

After recording on a new DVD+RW my machine does a "POST FORMAT". I would think this is what makes the disk readable elsewhere.

I'll have a look at things on my Philips tomorrow to see if I can work out what's going on. Hopefully the DVDR70 is similar to the DVDR75.

I too have a Philips DVD Recorder and just tried what you are trying, worked OK.

I viewed the DVD+RW for a few moments first and then copied it with CloneDVD2.

I'm pretty certain that you can't do multi session DVD's.

You'll probably have to copy all your data files onto your hard drive first and then burn in one go.
