they're not really 'new' cos they have been around for a while. They've only recently come to light after the consumer explosion in CDRW drives.
They just enable you to burn 99mins/900MB to a CD. ...

i have the new plextor 40x 12x 40x cd writer. It fails to recognise 90/99 min CDRs. It sees 90 min media as 80 min and doesn't even recognise the manufacturer of the 99 min media.

Saw the ones on CDmediaworld, but they didn't seem heavy enough for the people I wanna protect my CD's from!
