Confidential Missions-can't get it to boot
Has anybody had success with the USA-NTSC echlon version of this game? I can't burn a 11700 image so I extracted it with cdirip5p, used isofix, extracted with winimage, used mkiso and burned a selfbooter with cdrecord. (a4patcher could find no 11700 references in the iso.) Anybody know where I went wrong?
By the way, I've used this method like 50 times and I've always success. I'd appreciated any help |
I have had a problem with the PAL version of this game.
I ripped the ISO from the GD, extracted, used hack3 etc in the usual way, burned, at it didn't work - simply went to the DC explorer screen after the sega screen. OK, I thought, lets give that 45000 method a try in case there is some protection that the hack progs are missing....and the same thing happens. The only thing I can think of if there is possibly some LBA ##### so that the game has to be written with the files in the same order. Will try that and let you know, but in the meantime, if anyone can shed any light, Please let me know. |
In reply to the PAL version of confidential mission. It is acctually very, very, very easy to get it to selfboot. Firstly, you need to use the 45000 trick on this game, becasues the game freezes otherwise. You don't need to use hack3, dahack or anything. Simply grab a hexeditor and change the hex string CDE4436A to 0900 0900 in 1st_read.bin. Then run binhack, and make an iso with lba of 45000.

Thanx for the replies.....
You guys are more advanced than me. I don't know anything about hack3. My game doesn't freeze or return you to the dc explorer screen.. it just displays the dreamcast logo screen like its loading, then goes black, and then repeats... I'm eager to know if reordering the files works, let me know madsinger Also, does anyone know where you can get file order lists. In the meantime, I'm gona try to make a bootdisk version and see if that works. |
