What? Should i move this Thread to Tuts?

I didn't get you..

the question you asked when you posted it was in the Main Conversion forum. It doesn't belong there, it belongs on tutorial subforum, where it is now.

In the future any question posts belong in tutorial subforum, NOT main conversion forum.

Well amigo, I was avoiding your question as it was way awkward question. I mean those three are good at thier places,

Precomp: Can provide you JPG, PNG, DDS, BMP recompresssion. It works with many streams.

Basically it only processes the streams which can be losslessly restored, thats why it sometimes end up giving "No matches - undetected zLib streams"

pZlib: Well, it basically recompresses all zlib streams which comes under Normal Compression method and its faster than Precomp. Its good for games with zlib streams only.

Reflate: The demon of zlib recompression. It can process any zlib stream whether its RLE, Huffman, Kzip, Gzip, 7zip custom Deflate, etc. It might give a bigger result but 'cause its absolutely lossless, it sums up.

PPPLEASE?!??!

Not always the newest is the best. Try with nanozip. Or download EMMA from encode.ru and test. About script and compressors do it yourself man.

felice2011 17-07-2016 13:33

I say is so complicated just run some tests on the files affected by various methods and compressors to see the best compression, I think concerning precompressors (precomp, pzlib and reflate) each is adapt to affected file, so you can choose which one to use.

SAM2712 18-07-2016 03:39

Agreed with felice
Each precompressors have their Ability to do their best BUT acc. to files:D:D
