CMIX compression

Hi all,

does anybody have the newest cmix v8 successfully compiled on Windows? I would like to have the x86/x64 executables but didnīt get them compiled...

http://www.byronknoll.com/cmix.html

Thanks for your help

What do you think, is it the strongest compression tool at the moment? Because itīs on top on nearly every compression site

At least 32GB of RAM is recommended to run cmix.

hans this heavy compression will only work for text and cmix is only optimized for enwiki 8 and enwiki9 at least that i am aware of

you will need a linux cross compile cygwin to compile this :)

Also edit )

cmix is pure CM algorithm, nanozip and zpaq have implemented cm algorithms inside them

125 megabytes of data need 8 hours to compress on cmix

Lecturing on Compression algos

lzo=fast speed low ratio
lz77=medium speed medium ratio
bwt= low speed high ratio
cm= very low speed, uber ratio

CMIX for linux only :) i compiled it on my arch system using GCC 5.2a
