How to Split BIN file compressed into a smaller size.

Hi guys, I use Compressor v1.2.0 or Kurutucu Compressor to compress file in * .bin, to be included in the installation folder.
Someone explained to me how it is possible to split the file * .bin in most small size, such as 2GB, so you get Setup-1.bin, Sertup-2.bin, etc etc, to compile and insert them after the installation with inno setup.:confused:
Thanks !!!

already told the guy ... you have to create a list in the file list

example: you have 3 folders
Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto

mouse contains 6gb
Donald has 5gb
pluto and contains 4

then you have to add in the list: Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, because pluto leave it without compressing the list, as it contains only 4gb

6:05 gb is approximate ok? because it is assumed that compressed fall into a DvD ..

but you can also sort the files in different folders and to understand if ..

downloaded one of the many conversions that contains the compressor with lists and studied with the spoon .. my boy, no one from the baby food;)

then there is no algorithm to be included in a batch command that compresses and divides the output file with the source arc.exe, must be done manually, folder by folder, the files in the output bin then you install one after the other.
I have not figured out how to use the file list.

no!
scaricati una conversione gia fatta e vedi come funziona

downloaded a conversion already done and see how it works

I know that when I write in English I'm writing African, but the conversion I downloaded and I understand the concept ... I am only interested in how to compress a folder with FreeArc and get more output split files, as winrar or 7zip, with the choice of "SPLIT TO VOLUME SIZE" ???
I hope I managed to make myself understood.

there is no automatic way to split by volume size, it has to be done manually

felice2011 23-09-2014 05:48

That's exactly. Who tells me how to do ???
I understand how to compress a folder of large size, with FreeArc, or Compressor 1.2.0 razor etc. ..
I did not understand how to create the same large files split, in most small parts ...........(Setup_Part1.bin, Setup_Part2.bin, Setup_Part3.bin etc)

felice2011 23-09-2014 12:11

OK OK .....I understood, there is an automatic way to create the file * LST, I have to do it manually, copy and paste, folder by folder?

For the conversions i made for my personal use, i use a program called dvdspan,, its split any folder into folders with the selected size. its work very well but the free version is limited to 4 archives.. i have the not free version wich is not limited.. But with that program i can make automatically six folders for example of 1.5 GB in a 9 GB game with external compression. Thats its the reason that i dont posted any conversion yet.. i'm working in my own compressing batch for my conversions.

The link for the program is this:
http://hcidesign.com/dvdspan/

P.D. pakrat2k2 this is the reason that i dont posted any conversion that i have in previews :D.

P.D2. Moderators, i think i cant post the link.. if i cant, delete the posrt please.

The extension of the output is not compatible with inno setup or ARC compressor.

Found a way to split the folder of the game, with the same order of the sub-folder, then compress * .bin and split into several parts ..... "tested and working" without using the LST file *, slow and awkward complicated ..
Now I'm creating a progam that fits fast folders uniforms and compresses in Setup-bin1, Setup-2.bin .... etc, and then insert them into launcheur installation.
P.S: Era piu' facile a farsi che a dirsi..e ci voleva tanto.....:D:D:D

Dante1995 24-09-2014 05:50

however yesterday around I found a way to do batch (luck ... mmh)
The mi sfortune is instead (I lost the site).
the guy it set the size, and it was too damn easy.
sin for all good .. if I find him I agree. if (list)

friend if you found a way (here doubt it seemed to me) .. also share it with the rest of the class .. I use the dos with perl scripts but others believe it will be tempting

felice2011 24-09-2014 06:12

My way and much easier and tested, at this moment I'm working on the progam in batch to compress everything automatically, after a second progam splits the folder of the game in more 'parts.
I will post all finished in the first page.:)

Dante1995 24-09-2014 07:00

semi-automatic way to create LST files ( basically just text files )

start command prompt in directory where you want the list created

type in

dir /b /s >>"x:\listing.lst"

which creates your game listing for you, which will need to be edited to get the lists you want. Change the x to whatever drive letter where you want to save the list to.

@felice2011

The program splits the folders and create the archives in iso format, extract the isos with ultraiso for example and then compress with razor compressor,, its work,, i made 50 conversion in this way :D
