Cracks of unnoficial updates will be allowed on GameCopyWorld?

Some people have made unofficial updates for old games fixing bugs, improve things and options like resolution on WideScreen and that kind of stuff; however, some of then don't remove the copy proctection and the game still needing the CD in order to play.

Old NO-CD cracks work some times but on those games where the version is included on the main executable an old crack is non an option. That's the case of Age Of Empires 2, where Xomicron has release the patch 1.1 for Conquerors expansion and all the fixes are inside the main executable. So, my question is that maybe GameCopyWorld can include fixes for those unofficial game updates.

Yes I'm sure we can, but someone needs to send them in to GCW first. ;)

We dont actually create the cracks, we just host them once they are submitted.

(Yes there are some here who create some cracks for the simplier protections, but the majority of the cracks are sent in by the public.)

Sure, it doesn't matter who created an update or why, what is important is whether it contains copy protection. Especially for older games, copy protection is sooo annoying as it makes no difference in sales after like 2-3 years. (Yeah, it's sometimes the developer who releases an official or unofficial update, sometimes removing the copy protection altogether, when the publisher doesn't give a shit about the game anymore. Which is a great shame on publishers!)

Well, i can provide you guys the NOCD fix for that AOE update that i talk; was so easy because Xomicron already remove the SafeDisc protection; i just replace the "JE" strings by "JMP".

Please told me how to gave the executable, and forgive my bad english.

thats a bad method - patching conditionals.. patch the function that returns the value the conditionals act upon.. as the function may be called indirectly elsewhere in the game, biting you in the ass
