Final Fantasy VII Re-release unusable

Ugh. Stupid keyboard *unusable
Square Enix inadvertently released FFVII for the PC on their online store just the other day and pulled it since it was a leak. However, despite the leak, many people (including myself) purchased the game for $12, only to find out the serial keys the sent are all invalid. Most of us sent emails to Square explaining our plight but have yet to receive a response. The game allegedly uses SecuROM, which is infamous for being a real piece of crap when it comes to activating games for legit users as myself.

My question is, what can be done about getting this legally purchased (yet accidentally released) game to work? Surely, there must be freeware out there that will allow non-pirates to no longer suffer. Any advice? If Square does not compensate, there will be hell to pay.

This is a borderline case which I personally understand but I don't think this forum should help with. Circumventing protection by serial keys is against the forum rules; that's unrelated to physical media that can get damaged. Sorry about that; thread closed.

I should reiterate

So my last thread was closed, I should have stated that I HAVE the serial keys in question, I just can't use them because the process fails. I'm not trying to pirate anything. I bought the bloody game fair and square.

I know you're not trying to pirate it; that's why I wrote that I personally understand and I'm sorry. Still, the thread remains closed; please, don't open a new one.
