SiCheats, DRM, anguish!

Hello all,

I've been an avid user of trainers for a long while now and have gotten my trainers from various places over the years. I see the posts about the CH and h4x0r war, but I don't care about that.

I'm just the user that wants the best I can get without dropping money on something that shouldn't cost a cent, so I avoid CH.

SiCheats/h4x0r has been pretty good with constant updates and keeping up with the most recent games, but I was worried when DRM started being a part of the trainers. It was just minor annoyance, really, but now it's pure anguish as I cannot connect to the SiCheats website and the trainer isn't able to do what it's gotta do for me to be able to use it. I guess it's down, but that means that no one can use a SiCheat trainer until whatever is going on gets resolved, which is really a pain in the butt.

So, is there any way to use the trainer (bypass this DRM)? Or am I just doomed to aimlessly search around the internet for a working trainer that does what I want right now?

Okay, so after reading around the forum, I see I've been a bit noobish here.

My experience with trainers is limited. I've almost always got them through GCW, where I mostly either see SiCheats/h4x0r or Cheat Happens trainers, so that's about the most that I've known. I read over the "Where to find Cheats/Trainers" thread, along with a few others, and I am sorry for the ignorance in my first post.

After finding more and more CH trainers being only promos, I just stuck with finding h4x0r ones without looking much further, so I was a little "panicky" (too strong a word, can't think of anything better) when those aren't working due to the DRM in them.

Now I know a bit more about where to find other good ones, and thank goodness on that because trying to get h4x0r ones to work perfectly is just painful, but it's all I really knew.

I just tried a trainer by LinGon and it worked flawlessly. I'll be checking some others out as well, so, despite there having been no reply to my initial post, I thank you FileForums for your help!

This is not the Sicheats support forum.

DTJango 28-07-2012 14:31

Yeah, I understand that, but that's not what I was looking for, no offense. I was looking for a way around SiCheats DRM, or possible alternatives, which you don't really go to their support (if they have any) about. I mean, you don't go to Ubisoft support asking for a way around their DRM, or to ask what a better alternative is to one of their games, right?

Anyway, I found some of what I was looking for here, regardless of a mod (you are a mod, correct?) misunderstanding my request.

True, true; we're just wary of people who come here to have their Sicheats-related problems solved. Usually, such threads are closed, often even deleted, on sight. (And, yes, I'm a moderator but that's not exactly the point. ;))

@DTJango
I think its great that after having no response to your initial post you yourself went ahead and searched for what you wanted/needed, its a pity more dont show some initiative and do the same.
(I am aware there are the many many longer term members here who only ever search and never post, that is also fine.)
In doing so you learnt something new and learnt of another good trainer maker in 'LinGon'. ;)

The thing with Fileforum's, we cant always be here to answer questions etc but most of (if not all) the information everyone needs is somewhere on these forums. A short search and a bit of a read usually results in the answers you are looking for.

People tend to remember or learn more by doing the work themselves instead of being pointed to the answers all the time.

Well done. :)

Well, thank you for not deleting my thread on sight. And I only asked about you being a moderator because I saw hints of it around the forum, but under your name it only says "Senior forum member", while other moderators are clearly labeled as such.

I usually try to do things for myself, but I'll also ask for help if I feel stuck. I wasn't anticipating having the time to do more research on trainers when I made my first post, but when I found I had some to spare, I took the chance to look around.

Unfortunately, I'm still having a bit of trouble because of the links LinGon has for his trainers. I've Googled around and have found a couple sketchy "trainers" under his name (one was even a setup file), so I've messaged him through his blog because I'd prefer to download them from the source, or at least from a reputable site like GCW.

Even though I've not yet come to a satisfying solution, I'm on the way. :)

If you have the time, you can try to make a trainer for yourself over at the Cheatengine site. H4x0r uses cheatengine to make his trainers so that he admitted to use multiple times, maybe you can make your own table/trainer to suit your needs. I've always go to there as most the table/trainer release works like a charm and have very little problems with.

DTJango 04-08-2012 07:11

I have made a few of my own with CheatEngine, but mostly older games where the values are easier to find. A couple of newer ones, the CheatEngine forum has helped with those that have found the values I was looking for, but it usually just ends up being frustrating and way too time-consuming.

I've had a pretty hectic life lately, so it tends to be easier and quicker to do a search of GCW and take what I can get.

Trainers by "FLING" seem to work really good and as far as I can tell, there's no DRM or Adware
