Here is solution how to fix crc errors: needed tools: "InstallShield CAB File Viewer" http://www.gamecopyworld.com/games/gcw_game_tools.shtml "WinHex" (or another Hex editor) http://winhex.en.softonic.com/ 1. run InstallShield Cabinet File Viewer and open Data1.hdr (from CD) 2. click on icon "Display Components" 3. select "Video" -> Files, copy to txt "md5 signature" in file cutscene14.wd1 4. select "Music" -> Files, copy to txt "md5 signature" in file Ednight_1.mp2 http://i49.tinypic.com/2w7nvgw.gif 5. copy from CD... \Game\Video\cutscene14.wd1 \Game\Music\Ednight_1.mp2 and create md5 checksums for each file (in Total Commander in Total Commander, in MENU "File"->"Create CRC Cheacksums (SFV Format)..." then check "md5" option, or you can use QuickSFV tool http://i49.tinypic.com/2w7nvgw.jpg 6. copy from CD to hard drive "Data1.hdr" (we need edit it) 7. open "Data1.hdr" in "WinHEX" press click icon "Replace Hex Values" (CTRL+ALT+H) (crc for cutscene14.wd1) search for: D8C009C9F5AF7D662232B63CBA434936 replace with: 068D11623F9AD3822755403A80AC03BC (crc for Ednight_1.mp2) search for: F196EB6AA325B53D476FF35043CD630E replace with: F7ACE3902CB955E032BDE1126EA15020 http://i45.tinypic.com/10zak4j.gif save "Data1.hdr" and copy to cd-image or burn to cd |
Was the game officially released with a CRC error on the CD?! If not, where does this error come from? Probably you need to get a replacement because your original is faulty.
