Command line unpacker for InstallShield CAB's

1 Attachment(s)
There's a program called Unshield (download at Sourceforge) that was rather meant for Unixes but it compiles well under Windows (MinGW, gcc), too. The last version I could find is 0.6; I've fixed a few major, long-standing bugs in it. I'm not entirely sure but it might be able to unpack CAB's of version 10 and above.

See the current binary in the attachment. If you're into the command line, please, try it and share your results here.

As for the source, it's gonna be released but give me some time because the project seems to be delayed undefinitely. (Abandoned?!) Although I contacted the person who is probably the current maintainer, no reply yet, but if he is still there, I'd like to ask him to incorporate my changes into the real thing rather than introducing a fork.

Absolutely no idea about what it is capable of; I made this a few days ago only and have no test material either. Actually, my first goal had nothing to do with CD/DVD conversions: I started searching for such a software and, upon finding this one, hacked it when I got mad about a recent hardware driver package (for Windows) containing tons of completely unnecessary stuff and FAR Manager's arclite and 7-Zip plugins unable to unpack it. ;)
