Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (DVD9 to 1x DVD5) *Precomp+Srep+FreeArc+CA* *1 LANGUAGE*

1) Copy DVD9 contents to 'temp' folder

2) Replace with dummy files:

Delete:

3) Extract & overwrite 'HPDH2_1xDVD5.7z' contents to 'temp' folder

4) Launch Re-compress.bat & wait...

5) Edit 'localization.ini' in 'temp\support' folder under [LOCALES] label,
put a ';' character to front every row of foreign languages entries

6) Burn or make iso with label name of your choice

And.. arc+precomp+srep... what an amazing trio! :cool:

From ~2,4Gb of the first arc archive, i got ~538Mb of the final one!
My final size: 4,34Gb (with 22Mb free! :p)

Did you replace the game's files of foreign languages with dummies ones in pc folder (step 2)?
The pc folder size must be around ~ 3.56 gb

e.g. at step 2 for english conversion, replace with dummies the following files:

The dummies files on the root will be moved automatically after the compression

I do it, I install it, but I can't run it. My screen gets black and that's all, no sound nor nothing. I will keep trying to see if I made a mistake but I have made it several times and I get the same. Until now I think that the problem is in the dummy files:

When I don't change then the game works great.

why are you listing files that are not supposed to be dummy files ?


2) Replace with dummy files:

temp\pc\DH2_foreignlanguages.pck files
temp\pc\frontend~*foreignlanguages.bin.gz files

the delta* hc* etc files arent even listed to be changed to dummy files.

Why are they in the download?
 

I list them because I suppose that they were included in the HPDH2_1xDVD5.7z in order to replace the original files as you extract them in the temp folder.

they get moved into the proper folder near the end of the conversion process. Which works perfectly, just tested it & the resulting folder/iso ~4.23GB

Working on Win XP SP3.

It takes a loooooong time to install but work in the end.

Can't run HPDH2_arc.exe, said error script
