No One Lives Forever 2 CAB Files
I'm trying to modify the CAB files for NOLF2, im replacing files in the CAB files with the files from the latest patches CAB files so it installs the patch and the no dvd patch as default.
I got into and modified data1.cab fine, but data2.cab (on both the main game and the patch) I cannot seem to get into at all. I've tried several programs including the InstallShield Viewer and i6comp only for all of them to say: Could not open data2.hdr I'm totally stumped as to how to get into data2.cab and replace these files after spending 4 hours or so looking at various sites, so i'm hoping someone here knows a way or has a few suggestions. Thanks. |
You have to unpack data1.cab, and the unpacker will continue to further volumes (data2.cab etc.) automatically, but you cannot unpack any volume other than the first.

Ahh right alright. Well I got a load of files extracted from the patch setup, but it doesnt want to extract the original games cab files. When I type in:
i6comp.exe e: c:\i6comp02\data1.cab I get: This does not look like an IShield6 cab => Are u sure u know what u are doing? And I cant say yes or y. It also says the above when I run i5comp just obviously says IShield5 instead. I did check the version number on setup though (by right clicking on setup.exe) and it says 6.31.100.1190 |
Try Iscabvu from macazicozo (or some like that :)). You should find a link for it on Gcw.

I just had a quick look for it, and couldnt find it on GCW.
|
Try Google instead, then. ;)

I did. I've got the program but how do I extract with it? And re-create the cabs after? Theres no helpful infomation (that I can understand) at all.
|
You can open the data1.hdr or so with that tool, then choose "files" on the menu bar, select one and extract it. You can only extract single files manually and recreating a Cab is not possible with it.

Menu bar? The one I have is a ms-dos command prompt.

Try this one, it should have a Gui.

Why not monitoring the installer first with Total Uninstaller trial, then make for it a setup with Inno and put all the regedit needed info in Inno's script ?
/LE Your way is too complicated i think... |
