Expert Ripping Question....
 

I just finished my first rip of the Sonic 2 Trial, and it works! I have one question after all is said and done. Everything seems pretty standard except for any hexediting that needs to be done. How do people find out exactly what needs to be changed in the 1st_read.bin? I had to have Xena tell me for my sonic 2 trial.... Is there a tutorial or any discussion on what needs to be hexeditied?

I don't use hexeditor just DAHACK.

I search for all bin files with string 'CD001'

ie *.bin containing text CD001 ( in windows START/FIND/files or Folders

DAHACK all files which are found to contain CD001

ie

DAHACK DP.BIN (no other info necessary)

but for bootbin use -msinfo

ie

DAHACK 1st_read.bin <msinfo number> ie 11700 for Self-boot

or DAHACK 1st_read.bin 0 (for boot disk)

ahhh shit. you serious? xena said to change all of em to dahack 0. maybee some of the non-working discs i made would have worked with a bootdisk

DAHACK 0, is fine as long as you are then going to use binhack;

bootbin
ip.bin
-msinfo number (like when you convert a bootdisk game to a self-boot game)
