LG-GSA-H62L(Firmware DL00) Write Problem

The Issue with this burner now, is it will only burn once, then if I try to burn something else, tells me write has failed after about 20 secs. IF i reboot the PC, and try again, it will complete fine. But then again, same thing next write fails, until I reboot, then burns fine.

Its seems to be 'stuck' on disc-at-once, cannot select session-at-once, like I used too.

I dont know if its just time to chuck it in the bin ?

Suggestions, Ideas ?

thanks

Always the very first thing to try: upgrade the firmware to the latest. ;) You could also try a different CD/DVD media.

thanks Joe, the firmware on this model is at the latest, that I could find. I have tried 3 different media brands, and it doesnt matter. Think its just time for a new burner. Luckily there not expensive, god knows I've put this one thru hell.

Check out http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm. Some DVD's are not as high quality as one would expect from their brand. Not necessarily fakes, "only" the brand choosing a shit manufacturer. E.g. it is just a waste of money to buy TDK DVD's which have been (one of) the best brand until a few years ago when TDK stopped manufacturing them itself. I've seen such "instant write crashes" several times with my recent TDK DVD's, especially on my dad's PC, although this was A) random or B) consistent through up to half a dozen tries but not C) always every second.

I suggest getting a Pioneer drive and Verbatim media.
