Need help with Medieval 2 Total War
 

ok,i installed Medieval 2 Total war,applied a crack but an error appeared "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit".so i downloaded patch 1.02,and used the no-cd/fixed exe crack ,but it still didn't work.maybe its because the bad crack,but i got them from gamecopyworld.any help would be great

its not bad. also good to know your system, cpu, gpu, os, etc.

And you can of course try the mini-image! 1.02 is the wrong version number, if any its 1.2 - but thats not the latest and i'd recommend you Kingdoms + 1.5 Patch, try with mini-image, then with crack.

here is my dxdiag.about the-mini image,i did tried with M2TW 1.0 but it didn't work.and i can't find the mini-image of 1.2 and 1.5 version anywhere.

there wont be a mini image of version 1.2 or 1.5, those are updates to the executable.. just get a mini image of the game.. which should work...

The mini-image is up on gcw - can you tell me why it does not work!? Did you do everything you should do with the image? Like yasu to avoid blacklisting?

Edit: i just looked at your dxdiag.txt and found... "DirectX Version: DirectX 0.0 (0.00.0000.0000)" uhm.......!?

Try to install/update your dx, i think you cannot do it, google for DirectX Version: DirectX 0.0 (0.00.0000.0000)

i did everything like instruction :mounted fixed image file,used SafeDisc4 Hider to avoid blacklisting but the error is still there.i had no idea why it didn't work.installed latest directx 9 as you said,no luck

edit: i just got Kingdom expansion,installed it and 1.5 patch but still couldn't play,even with crack or mini-image.

Better use yasu, cos Kingdoms with 1.5 have securom7. And please tell us which error msg appears when you start the game with crack and mini-image mounted in dtlite + yasu.

Plus maybe you should install Service Pack 3, update .net framework, etc. (graphics driver is not too old but you can install a new one ^^)

ok,using yasu didn't work either.when i used both the crack and mini-image,the error is still "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit" with M2 and Kingdom.i noticed when i ran the kingdom.exe file,an error appeared with no msg in it, just a box with an OK button.
ps: are patch 1.5 and patch 1.05 the same?im confused.

hmm, then no idea :( and dunno about the 1.50 or 1.05, i think its miss tagging. Long time ago i played the Game.

ok, just tried a few things:reinstalled,applied patch 1.2 then patch 1.3,added -nm in the target tab in Medieval 2 total war shorcut properties,now when started Medieval 2 shorcut (not medieval2.exe),an CA_LIBS error occured "Medieval 2 suffered a fatal error and will now exit"

Maybe just download it again, maybe you don't have all of the files needed. I would recommend to download it again but from another site.
