1. Create folders 'DISK1', 'DISK2' and 'DISK3'

2. Copy content of first DVD9 to 'DISK1'

3. Copy content of second DVD9 to 'DISK2'

4. From 'DISK1' copy to 'DISK2': 'autorun.inf' and 'game.ico'

5. From 'DISK1' copy to 'DISK3': 'autorun.inf' and 'game.ico'

6. From 'DISK1' move to 'DISK3': 'DS2DAT2.DAT' and 'DS2DAT3.DAT'

7. From 'DISK1' copy to 'DISK3': Support (folder)

8. From 'DISK2\Movies\en' move to 'DISK3\Movies\en':

excavation.vp6
vid002-worms.vp6
vt_00_01.vp6
vt_01_01.vp6

9. In 'DISK2' open 'Autorun.inf' with Notepad and edit to look like this:

[autorun]
open=0
icon=Game.ico

10. In 'DISK3' open 'Autorun.inf' with Notepad and edit to look like this:

[autorun]
open=0
icon=Game.ico

11. Download, extract and replace edited 'autorun.dat': 'DeadSpace2_3xDVD5.rar' to 'DISK1'

12. Burn or make iso's with label name 'DISK1', 'DISK2' and 'DISK3'

DVD1 2.77 GB
DVD2 4.32 GB
DVD3 3.04 GB

Install sequence: DVD1 - DVD2 - DVD3

1.Create 3 folders: Disc1, Disc2 and Disc3

2.Copy first DVD9 content to Disc1 folder

3.Copy second DVD9 content to Disc3 folder

4.Download and replace Autorun.dat with the edited one from Dead Space 2.rar

5.Move the following file from Disc1 folder to Disc2 folder:

6.Move the following file from Disc3 folder to Disc2 folder:

DS2DAT4.DAT
7.Copy the following files from Disc1 folder to Disc2 and Disc3 folders:

GDFBinary.fr-fr.dll

8.Edit autorun.inf from Disc1 folder:

open=Autorun.exe
Icon=game.ico

9.Edit autorun.inf from Disc2 and Disc3 folders:

Icon=game.ico

10.Burn or make ISOs with labels Disc1, Disc2 and Disc3

DVD1 = 3.76GB
DVD2 = 3.26GB
DVD3 = 3.11GB


Install sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD3

So, the only .DAT files used for an english installation of the game are

DS2DAT2.DAT
DS2DAT3.DAT
DS2DAT4.DAT
DS2DAT5.DAT

I can remove the other .DAT files and not encounter issues on an english install? Would be nice to just have a single dvd9 of this game...

I'm using the EN/FR version of it, btw.

make a dummy file for whatever dat files your not using. Either that or edit the installer
and remove the references to other language from it.

Attached is an alternate dvd icon and autorun picture, since the stock ones were kinda boring IMO.
