NecroVision Lost Company Patch 1.1 unpacking problem

Hi!

I have installed NecroVision Lost Company a long time ago, and I got stuck on one of first levels, due to a bug in the game. The patch is released some time ago, but I was unable to install it, as it says that game isn't installed. This happens with european DVD version of the game, and according to official game forums, this is not yet resolved (there are more people with this same problem), and the developers are, for now, not responding to any requests about this issue (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=15768). It looks (judging by the comments on official forum) that Steam version of the game is patched, but I don't have that version.

Next, I tried to apply the patch manually. After running patch (while it was displaying error about not finding the game), I copied temporary directory with patch setup files to another location. It was made with InstallShield, and I tried all the unpackers I could find. i6comp says it is not installshield 6 cab file. I tried several versions of InstallShield cab viewer (they all open the cab, but wouldn't extract): 14.0 and 15.0 just display some unrecognisable error code (and extract empty file), while latest from InstallShield 2011 (I even installed trial version just for this) just crashes without any error code. I also tried latest Universal Extractor, but the cab is not recognised.

I tried several versions of iscab. I can list the files from cab, and these are the ones I need:

When I try to extract them with iscab, I get the following error:
Error: Media too small. Could not fit 'setup.ini' on disk 1
I tried to manually create Bin and Data directories, but I get the same error. This is as far as I could go...

If anyone can unpack this, please help. The attached archive is setup folder from official patch. Official patch is ~34MB, but it looks like it contains dot.net installer, which I didn't include. It can be found on http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang=...1pl.zip&ref=ps
(in case I didn't catch all the needed files; despite the pl suffix, it is english/polish patch, at least, that's what official site says).

Files are inside data2.cab.

Here are the extracted files for the english version.

At first, the exe hast to be unpacked with Ultimate unpacker, then you have to open the .hdr file with Iscabvu.

Cowsheep, THANKS! You solved the problem perfectly!

I tought that I maybe didn't extract all the files, but I didn't know how to unpack exe. I'll try Ultimate unpacker next time I run into something like this. And, I'll post link to this topic in official game forum, so that others may use the patch too.

guys i got these files i copy them in bin and data but still it doesn't work !

You have to copy it to the root gamedir and and not all to the bin subdir, some files belong to other folders.

Need your help man. I bought nlc from Gamersgate as a digital download a year ago so I'm assuming that it's the European DVD version seeing as how the service is based in Europe and that Gamersgate is essentially 1c's version of Steam. Haven't been able to find Ultimate Unpacker(might have, not sure)and Iscabvu. Could you supply the links and bulletpoint the process? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

im a noob concernig this problem and i reallly do not get it!
So, what im asking for is if anyone can please post a detailed to-do list for someone like me?
Im so sry i do not get it but id like to play the game.
btw, does anyone know if the updated european version can be used with the uncut patch?
