how to solve? thanks for your time

You need ~ 3 gb of free space on windows partition for makecab's temporary files.
~ 15 gb where you made the conversion, if you use only windows partition (where OS is installed) ~ 18 gb are required.

SINGULARITY DVD9 to 1x DVD5 PL Conversion

Based on peterf1999 conversion, and with his help here is the PL(only PL!) conversion.

1) Make 'temp' folder

2) Copy DVD9 contents to 'temp'

3) Extract & overwrite 'SINGULARITY_PL_1xDVD5.7z' contents to 'temp'

4) Launch recompress.bat & wait...

5) Rename PLK_cab1.cab to PLK_cab.cab (was a mistake of mine :P)

6) Install the game from DVD9, launch FREEARC browse game's folder & select all files in 'CookedPC' folder

Code:

Output archive: Sing    (NOT .exe!)
Compression:  -mx -ld1600m (if someone has 2gigs of RAM as my self i suggest -mx -ld800m)

6) Move 'Sing.arc' to 'temp'

7) Burn or make ISO with label name 'SNG_DVD'

DVD5 size ~ 4.24 GB

Installation goes exactly as peters (see his screens)

P.S.: Thanks peter!

Just a sidenote

Thank you, peterf1999, works perfectly on Windows7 32bit!

Some notes though for others: when installing don't forget to give the same name to your installation directory as the one you archived with FreeArc in the first place!

E.g. if you created the archive of CookedPC folder with the name, we say, „Sing” then you must provide this name when installing a fresh copy (e.g. C:\Program Files\Sing)! Otherwise there will be 2 seperate folders after installation, one for the above Sing and one for the rest (for example C:\Program Files\Singularity(TM) - default folder name). Although you can easily remedy this by moving everything from the Sing folder to the Singularity(TM) fodler, it's just tiresome.

Also, for some reason, after installation there are some leftovers on the disk by the vcredist_x86_Inst.exe package. Again, it's not a problem, it's just not elegant.

Keep up the good work, peterf1999! :)

P.S.: if you don't have enough free space (at least 3Gb) on your C: partition, just set the TEMP and TMP environment variables to an other folder residing on a disk with enough free space! I.e. set TEMP=F:\

Cheers,
lorr
