Aion Installer - DVD5 Conversion
 

Any ideas... i have these files

Dont have experience using iscab or tools like that... just something about orca... but i dont have any msi here... so... asking for help...

Download the attachment into the same folder as your files.

run the bat files in this order:

1. editlayout.bat ( changes the layout of DVD from single dual layer 9GB to
DVD5 4GB ) Only take a minute.

2. repackcabs.bat ( this takes time AND HD space ( make sure to have plenty of freespace ~20GB )) wait till it ends.

3. cleanup.bat ( removes files used in editlayout / repack processes )

What it does is repack the data2.cab file from >9GB down to ~4GB AND adds a data3.cab that will be the rest of the split data2.cab file. You MAY end up with data4.cab file as well.

Once you have finished the repack process. You will need either 2 or 3 temp folders ( depending on wether the repack process created just data3.cab or also data4.cab )

The file layout for
temp1 folder ( all files / folders except data3 / data4 cab files)
temp2 folder --> 2 folders (Embedded--> Dir launcherextension--> Dir)
+ data3.cab
temp3 folder if needed --> 2 folders (Embedded--> Dir launcherextension--> Dir)+ data4.cab

make iso's using any label & test install BEFORE burning.

Conversion don´t works for me. Please help!
 

I have Aion 2.5 as free2play version downloaded.

Now I want to make a backup on dvd. I don´t can use our conversion but my data2.cab file is 14,7 Gigs big. :(

Can help me anybody? :)

Have you tried what pakrat has said in the post above yours?
From memory, what pakrat has posted will still work regardless of the size of the data2.cab. Because your data2.cab is bigger the process will create more data cabs, each extra cab file created will mean an extra DVD5.
Just follow 'the file layout' of what pakrat wrote when creating the DVD's to burn.

Note: pakrat will soon correct me if I am wrong. ;)

you are right Grumpy, the editlayout doesnt care what size the files are originally, it changes the expected final size to one that fits dvd5. AND it should work on any size of cabfile regardless. Just follow the steps as outlined, make sure you have enough freespace. If you paranoid, make a backup before starting to replace if you make mistake, and run the bat fles as ive mentioned. post back if any problems.
