Unable to download from GameCopyWorld
 

Hi,

I used to be able to download no-DVD exe fixes from GameCopyWorld. However, i am not able to do so recently. When i click on the file icon, a pop up page with all the available mirrors will appear. No matter which mirror i select, my download will indicate that i instantly finished downloading the file, but the file size is 0 kb, and the file was not created. If i choose to open the file instead of saving it, i will get a damaged archive error message.

The same thing happens whether i use opera or ie. I am not using any download manager or firewall/blocker.

This is a common sign of your anti-virus kicking in. It may be detecting some of the files as malicious and stopping the download before it's even finished. ESET's AV web-shield likes to do this on occasion.

Read the forum FAQ and try again.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am using AVG 8.5 antivirus. I deactivated it but i am still unable to download.

Joe, I read the FAQ at the PC Games forum but i cannot find any part which relates to the problem i am facing. I am able to see the download icon. The problem i encounter is not with extracting the exe file from the 7z file, but rather i am unable to download it in the first place. I can't even save the file as it will be a 0 kb file. Appreciate if you can elaborate more on which part of the FAQ i can focus at. Thanks.

I mean the FAQ of this forum. ;)

0-byte files are also send to blacklisted ip's/proxies which have been abusing the download service in the past, use a different ip to download the file!
