Venetica patch error

I have an error while I want to update the Venetica to 1.02 using the official patch.
It give me an error saying couldn't undentify the installed version of Venetica. Debug: 5b1ed729004ef3e97bbc6487aa926921".

What can i do to prevent this?

Some game file may be missing or corrupted. Uninstall and reinstall the game (backup your savegames!!!) If still no luck, use Sysinternals' Process Monitor to find out which file it is searching for/accessing when the error message is displayed and then tell us.

I have uninstalled and reinstall but I still have the same problem....
Can you tell me what is Sysinternals' Process Monitor?

Does the patch match your games language version?

I second this. There is a German version and an EFIGS (both v1.02) version.

If not, post back up. The files can be manually extracted from the patch and overwritten if need be.

Joe Forster/STA 19-02-2010 14:51

I couldn't find a German-only 1.02 patch on Patches Scrolls: http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dp.cgi?lang=e...earch=venetica. The European multilanguage (EFIGS) patch can be unpacked with innounp.

Mual 19-02-2010 18:08

I'm using EFIGS patch and I get that error.
Anyway, what program can manually unpack or extract the patch to the game folder?

[Psych] 20-02-2010 01:20

As Joe said, innoup (the patch file has been created with innosetup), or similar extraction tool.

Joe Forster/STA 20-02-2010 07:38

But remember: innounp will just unpack the installation package as it is packaged, you yourself will have to find out which file goes where in the game's installation directory!

Mual 20-02-2010 09:41

I don't understand how to make that.
Can someone make a tutorials please?

Joe Forster/STA 20-02-2010 09:46

What tutorial? Download innounp (search for it on the Web), and run it like this: innounp -x insert_here_the_name_of_the_installer.exe.

Mual 20-02-2010 10:45

I'm using Windows 7 Professional and I have problem on opening innounp.
Is a batch file right?

ShadowDuke 20-02-2010 11:48

cmd or batch, right.

Batch is the easiest way, copy executable to dir where innounp is, and make a batch like Joe wrote and you're good to go.

Mual 20-02-2010 22:52

Or do some of you free to use teamviewer and help me?

ShadowDuke 21-02-2010 17:05

Whats the problem!? You've mentioned batch, Joe told you how, now you know what to write in the batch, so..?
