Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 1.0b crack buggy?
 

As most KotOR 2 players may know, the earlier versions of the game had some serious bugs with swoop racing.

What happened was that, just after the light goes green and the race starts, the bike suddenly jumps and keeps floating high over the ground, and that way it's impossible to win any race. And even if that didn't happen, sometimes after finishing the race the judge tells you that "you crashed".:confused:

Fortunately, this was solved on a later patch of the game.
But it's not over. It seems that the crack for the 1.0b version still contains that bug and some others. If i use the cracked executable i experience all those bugs again, but if i replace it with the original executable and use my original CD, there are no bugs. I have tested it.;)

But, i'm using the spanish version of the game (it has all the texts translated into spanish, but the voices and the bink videos are the same, only that they have subtitles in spanish). I have to use exclusive updates for the spanish version. May it be possible that the crack for the updated english version (it says so on the downloads section) is not really compatible with the updated spanish version?

Someone with the updated english versions please tell me if he's having any trouble with the crack as well. If not, maybe i should find and english version and keep my original copy of the game as justification:(

Correct, english crack is for english version only.

Try using a mini-image :) If not one available, check out the FAQ's to see how to make one :)

A rumor says that the crack for 1.0b is just a modified crack for 1.0, with changed version info etc, since the group which produced that crack is just a bunch of lame-arsed lamers. This explains why that bug is still present in the game.

So technically since there is no proper crack for 1.0b, stick to mini image.

Why do not use a mini-image? Easiest way for everything, narf.

I'm trying to use the mini-image, but after mounting it my computer gets almost completely blocked, even after unmounting the image...
EDIT: i solved that by turning off autorun on all drives on the registry, but the mini-image still doesn't work. I mount it with Daemon Tools Lite 4.30.3, then i cloak it with YASU 1.6.9040, but it tells me that the disc cannot be found or authenticated, or it just tells me that there is no disc inserted...

I HAVE an original game, but i use no-cds not just because i'm too lazy to put the cd on the drive, but because my ORIGINAL DVD of GTA San Andreas almost broke up and exploded inside my drive. Or even if it doesn't explode, if the disc ends up too scratched the f***ing anticopy will say it's not original, and i don't feel like bying a game twice just because a fussy copy protection system.

voodoo_nbgd hit it nail on the head. You also speculated, and correctly so, when you mentioned the bugs that were supposed to have been fixed in the patch. It's a modded crack from the original version. Specifically modified resource info including the version and what-not. Ba$tards :)

You're stuck with the original disc dude. And, if you actually don't have the disc and are just saying that, you can grab a brand new copy from eBay for about £2. I know, because I did, only recently ;)

I know its pretty cheap right now (i've seen it on stores for about 10€). The problem would be when it's not on stores anymore, and by that time even if i care the disc like bohemian glass the disc will have plenty scratches. I had problems with KotOR 1 not recognizing the disc because it had some fingerprints on it...:mad:
