AVG Problem??!!
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all, I have a problem with my 8.5.420 AVG, check this screen shot. what should I do?
i'd suggest uninstall avg, download the new one (think its v9 now, was available yesterday when i checked) and reinstall it, something is obviously very wrong.. and it might also be a good idea to try scanning your pc for trojans / rootkits, as it could also be some trojan / rootkit / virus blocking avg... so perhaps scan using an online scanner (takes a bit of time, but its better than nothing), but first try uninstall, download new ver, reinstall, if that works, then i'd do a full scan.. good luck
And never turn off automatic updates on AVG, thats just asking for trouble.

I did a scan with the AVG but it didn't find any viruses, but I think there is some viruses, because everytime I use my PC too many problem massages appear, they start with only one but with time they become too many (every 5 or 10 mins a problem massage appears) check this screen shot , and sometimes a "NeroLitUp.exe" problem massage appears but if I click don't send on this one another one appears quickly, the others take 5-10 mins so that another one appears. what should I do?

Perhaps, your licence has expired?
no, it expires on 14/11/2009
might be an idea to run scandisk on your drive (right click drive -> properties -> tools -> scan for errors)
I checked my "C" drive for errors but in phase 2 it says "Windows was unable to complete the disk check" the "D" drive don't have any errors
I downloaded AVG 9.0.663 but the Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, and the Link Scanner says "Database is outdated" like the last one and i can't update the AVG to the latest version :S

You have a self replicator virus. It will infect any exe files it comes across.
Time for a reformat I say. |
Ehhh, reformat... Put the hard disk into a non-infected PC and clean it there.
Problem there is Joe there could be one well wrapped file that is the cause and not getting noticed by any AV.
So it may cure the infected files, but may not cure the cause. A reformat will 100% wipe it out. |
yup, i'd go with what dab says, its definately evidence of a virus, another possibility would be to try and use a boot disk, with a mini os on it like linux or a mini xp etc and try and do a virus scan using that
I formatted my PC and the problem is solved, thanks alot :)
