Please help, Hard to be a god wont install

I am trying to install Hard to be a God, I click on install go through all the usual stuff like make desktop shortcut etc. but then when it comes to the part where it shows the loading bar when installing it does nothing and my virus protector thing pops up with "trojan detected and removed, About this Trojan
Detected: Artemis!A10E69DC5093 (Trojan), Artemis!A10E69DC5093 (Trojan)
Location: E:\AWE.exe" this pops up every couple of seconds and so because of this the game doesn't install.

If it helps to know at all then my system is:
Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Service pack 1
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
Memory: 2.00 GB

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Check the executable with http://virustotal.com; it surely is just a false positive.

Check the executable with http://virustotal.com;

How do i do that, and what is the executable

this is what i was thinking it is but how do i over come this problem to be able to install the game

Genova 15-09-2009 15:47

Check the executable with http://virustotal.com;
**
I have done this and it says File setup.exe received on 2009.09.15 22:44:11 (UTC)
Current status: Loading ... queued waiting scanning finished NOT FOUND STOPPED
Result: 0/41 (0%)
But how do i over come this problem of not being able to install because my virus protection keeps popping up saying trojan detected.

Joe Forster/STA 15-09-2009 15:54

Add the executable as an exception. (Do you know how to use your virus scanner? Time to RTFM.)

Genova 15-09-2009 16:56

Don't worry Ive got it working now, Thanks anyways.

Genova 16-09-2009 10:27

Ok its not working again, I have played it but then when I go to play it again it acts like its not installed on the computer and my virus blocker pops ups again saying about the trojan, The only way I was able to even install the game was to turn of my virus protection program, install the game but then as soon as I turn it on again it messes with the game so I have to reinstall it. I am using McAfee V 9.5 How do I Add the executable as an exception.

Genova 16-09-2009 10:34

On my mcafee security center I have had to turn off active protection on the system guards menu and that seems to let the game run and install fine but will mcafee work fine, same as usual or do I need that on.

Joe Forster/STA 16-09-2009 11:26

Let me reiterate: time to RTFM. (Also, the last time McAfee VirusScan was an able software was about a decade ago, in the DOS era. Move on to AVG, Kaspersky or NOD32.)

TippeX 16-09-2009 11:34

also, is this installing from the original retail?

Genova 16-09-2009 12:03

Yes this is installing from the original retail and what does RTFM mean.

TippeX 16-09-2009 14:21

rtfm = read the fucking manual..

if its the original retail disk, i would contact the publisher and ask them about this virus warning (to at least get confirmation its not a bad production disk etc..and a possible fix)

Genova 16-09-2009 15:16

That's what I thought it mean, if they just said read your manual nicely in the first place then I would have said I don't have a fucking manual for it as its off the internet not shop bought, that's why I'm asking in the first place because obviously I don't have a bloody manual, there was no need to be rude and just keep telling me to read the manual how the hell am I meant to know that's what RTFM means, they are meant to be one of the site Moderators and actually help me with computer problems not tell me rubbish like RTFM RTFM and McAfee is from the "DOS era" use AVG instead which is rubbish it doesn't pick up anything that gets onto your computer but thanks anyway TippeX at lest you gave me some sort of suggestion, I will contact the publisher and see what they say.

Joe Forster/STA 16-09-2009 15:34

Wow, like we're supposed to (be able to) tell you how to use basic software on your PC, when this forum is about games, not general software...

... and that software is even pirated, too?

Perhaps, by using Google and Wikipedia, the same sites you might want to use before asking general questions.

Thread closed. Drop the attitude.

Iīm also a mod and i can say that while we do sometime choose to help (see how i use "choose") thatīs not our job, as the name well indicated we are here to mod the posts and make sure the rules are not broken.

And as Joe indicated, this is not a computer issue forum...

I understand that not everybody knows what RTFM means, but i can assure you Joe was not being rude using it, itīs a common tech term, which may be missleading because of "Fucking" in it, but most of the times itīs used as just plan read the manual.

Just though iīd explain that.
